Description

lately, i feel my life is quite miserable although my dad has infinite times reminded me how lucky my life is to have a roof over my head, clothes to wear and food to eat.

but the thing is...I never get the close friends i needed most (well, you all my good friends but i needed someone close as in step bro or sis which i can rely on) and a dream job that i wanted to do. But everyone around me keep saying it will cripple my future though it is enjoyable but it can't guarantee money to go on. which they made me confused and less confident in going for it.

and I hate it when my parents keep saying " I'm not trying to put u down and your drawing is nice but people out there draws much professional. which you would not surpass them. I suggest you better take it as a hobby then going for it." although it isn't direct but i get the meaning the way they say that I'm not talented enough to go for professionals which hurts me alot.

May i ask all of you, since you all have watched my drawings for a long time. am i not talented enough to go for professional? i don't know what I'm lacking at...

anyway, recently i had made a dragon chibi template to make my bro's bday card. so sharing you guys with it for free. you can print this out and cut and paste to make your personal b'day card!! click next to see the b'day card i made.

If your parents are trying to compare you to :icongenzoman: That would be outrageous. He has amazing work, but you need to find your own ground. You like manga? then make manga! There's many different art styles. I assume when your parents say "professional" they mean realistic. Art comes in many forms. Cartoonish is much easier, and would be a better option if you can't do realism.

Now take a look at this person: :iconfyre-flye:

Take a guess who's that. Her art doesn't look on par with :icongenzoman: but that's besides the point. She's Lauren Faust who made the MLP series which for some reason got extremely popular... (I blame the internet for that part).

Regardless. Go with what you can do, not what you can't. If you want realism, you need professional classes. Though not always necessary. Here's a piece made by someone who self learned without external help: [link]

Amazing yea? That's a more gothic, victorian look to it. Different art style, yet amazing. That was a promotional work for Castlevania Symphony of the Night. So find something you are good at, and stick to it. Open a journal, a paypal account and do commissions if you want.

Anyways, I'm not good myself. I'm only doing it as a hobby.
